There are widespread yellow rain and snow warnings in the UK, and Friday is expected to be another chilly day.
There are snow warnings in effect for Scotland, Northern Ireland, and northern England on Friday, along with a rain warning for southern England.
Scotland’s northern and central regions are under a snow and ice warning.
It follows reports on Thursday of significant traffic disruption and the closure of many schools.
The Met Office in Kirkwall, Orkney, Scotland, measured about 10cm (3.9in) of snow on Thursday. In Altnaharra, in the Scottish Highlands, -13.8C (7.1F) was the lowest temperature ever recorded.
at addition, there was a lot of rain; 43.2 mm of it was recorded at Harbertonford, South Devon, which is about half of the region’s typical February rainfall.
There have also been reports of school closures in Cumbria, Derbyshire, Yorkshire, and Wales.
Many minor traffic collision complaints were received by North Wales Police.
Rail service was disrupted, and there were delays on the roads. Great Western Railway reported flooding-related disruptions on the route between Bath and Swindon.
Significant delays were reported at London’s Euston station, with London Northwestern Railway citing a swan on the rail as a contributing factor.
The Met Office has issued a warning, stating that untreated bike routes and pavements may become impassable and that falls and slips on icy surfaces may result in injury. READ MORE ……
